Invasive Species Control

Invasive plant species, such as Garlic Mustard, Phragmites, Japanese Honeysuckle, Spotted Knapweed,
and Oriental Bittersweet, are non-native species that spread agressively, choking out native species and
degrading natural areas. Each summer MCD staff and volunteers spend countless hours combating the
spread of invasive species in Muskegon County. Learn more about two of these species by watching the
