Public Update Meeting held June 29, 2009. Read announcement. Also,
view the Rain Garden Presentation given by Patricia Pennell of the West
Michigan Environmental Action Council. Two rain gardens are planned
for the Alcoa Howmet Native Landscaping Project.

Volunteer Work Day on October 21, 2009. Thanks to all who
participated! 12 adult volunteers and 28 students helped us plant almost
2,000 native perennial plugs to fill in bare spots and increase plant
diversity at the Howmet Plant 4 site.

Volunteer Opportunities: We still have over 3,000 native perennial
plugs that need to be planted throughout the Howmet Plant 4 site. Help
us out on November 20, 23, or 24 from 12:00-5:00pm. Come for an hour
or two, or spend the afternoon with us. Park in the west parking lot

Native Landscaping Workshop: Learn how to plant a native landscape
and the basics of installing a rain garden. The workshop, led by Jeff
Auch, Executive Director of the Muskegon Conservation District, will be
held at the White Lake Community Library on Tuesday, November 17, at
