Applications are now being accepted for the YES! - Youth and Environment Stewardship Grant
Program for 2012 - 2013. The deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, March 15th 2012.
This program is open to all educators and community organizations interested in raising
environmental awareness in Muskegon County by connecting youth with local organizations and
implementing hands-on environmental projects. Please apply even if you do not need funding and
are simply seeking to build a meaningful partnership to implement a project.
Projects funded in the past have included: planting native gardens, restoring natural areas for use in
future outdoor education, water quality monitoring and beach clean-ups, hosting environmental art
sculpture classes, and reinstating successful school recycling programs. Please see the YES! Flyer
below for more project ideas.
YES! grants, funded by Alcoa Foundation, are awarded up to $800 per project.
