The Muskegon Conservation District will be offering a Certified Naturalist Program
beginning in April 2012. The District’s West Michigan Shoreline Naturalist Program
will provide educational opportunities in a variety of ecological and conservation
topics, culminating in each participant becoming a certified naturalist.
The program will consist of a series of six classes, with topics such as aquatic and
wetland habitats, sand dune environments, trees, wildflowers, ecology and geology.
Classes will meet on Saturdays, beginning April 14, 2012, and will be four hours long,
from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The first hour of each class will be in a classroom style
meeting, with the remainder of class time spent in the field. The cost of the program
(including all education materials) is $175 if registered prior to Feb. 1, 2012. and
$195.00 for registrations received after Feb. 1st. - SPACE IS LIMITED.
