Your land, your water, Your michigan....your local conservation district
New members will receive a packet of helpful information about basic eco-
friendly practices for the household and will be given the option to complete an
“Eco-Audit” with MCD staff. During this informal interview we will help you identify
current household practices that may have a negative impact on personal and
environmental health. MCD staff will work with you to develop an Action Plan with
goals and a timeline for reducing these negative impacts.

Each time you implement a new earth-friendly practice from your Action Plan, you
will earn points toward increasing your Eco-Friendly Neighbor Level. As you
attain the required points for each level, you also earn a reward that will help you
on your way to a more environmentally-responsible lifestyle.

Eco-Friendly Neighbor is a free educational program open to all Muskegon
County residents, courtesy of the Muskegon Conservation District. Whether you
live in a house or in an apartment, in town or out in the country, there are specific
actions that you can take to create a healthier and more environmentally-
responsible home.

Sign up today to learn more about conserving water and energy, reducing waste,
responsible lawn and garden care, proper management of toxic products in the
home, care of wells and septic systems, creating backyard wildlife habitat and
using native plants, preventing stormwater pollution, the benefits of buying local,
