MAEAP
Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP):
MAEAP Progressive Planning is a voluntary, non-regulatory program that allows small and medium-sized livestock producers to work toward
environmental assurance for their farms at their own pace.

Individual assistance, educational workshops, and field days are all tools used to assist producers in meeting their environmental goals.  Through
progressive planning a producer will work with the local MAEAP technical to address some or all of the following:
  • Conservation Practices on Fields
  •  Whole Farm Nutrient Balance
  •  Mortality and Veterinary Medical Waste Plan
  •  Spreading Plan
  •  Odor Management Plan
  •  Emergency and Employee Training Plan
Completing the steps above will put the producer in a good position to complete a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan and become a
MAEAP Verified Farm.
